"Having moved to the area just over a year ago, I struggled to find a gym that I was happy with. After an initial disaster, I found a little ad in The Oracle for Cerisport and thought I’d give it a try. From the moment I walked through the door, I was welcomed by Ceri and Simon. The place and the people had a friendly, warm and non-judgemental atmosphere. Everyone had a friendly welcoming word and I instantly felt that I’d found the right place to be! After such a long time feeling drab and unmotivated, Ceri, Michelle and Simon have made me find my mojo again and I look forward to every session and class with renewed vigour and enthusiasm! The classes are fun: you can sing along to the songs, if you want, and a good handclapping is always encouraged! I’m absolutely loving it"

"I often look at these adverts for weight loss. Those disturbing photographs of before and after and I have wondered why they would allow them to be taken or kept. With digital cameras now you can delete ad nauseam. That was until I thought about writing this piece to Cerisport and after scouring my phone and camera I can honestly say I don’t have 1 full length photo of me going back over 5 years. So there won’t be a before and after with my piece just the knowledge that the people who are sharing my journey have seen the changes.
So why now, why exercise when I am 58. Still married, to the same man, not looking to change that any time soon either. It comes down to having a long memory; 5 foot 4.5 inches, 8 stone 4 at 31 and a size 8-10. Strangely I do have photos of that and remembering how easy things were. No worries about buying clothes no worries about “Does my b*m look big in this?”, “Darling your B*m looks big in everything” conversations. The fact that I hit a wall mentally and physically and needed a release, then a goal. What I didn’t factor in was the basic need we have to be sociable. You forget that when you have your nose against the wall.
So Doctor said, rest I can give you counselling and I have tablets to boost your mood if you need some help. I love my doctor, he is a great listener, forget "7 mins and the prescription is written before you sit in the chair". This man has time for you. So we discussed options. I did some reading, although my concentration was shot to pieces I kept going. I can recommend “Depressive Illnesses: The curse of the strong” and I spoke to a friend who recommended Cerisport to get the exercise I was looking for to release those endorphins and kick start the serotonin production in my brain. I said I read a lot.
My first session was all about checking out the studio. Could I walk in the door? Would they all be stick insects wearing £100’s of pounds worth of designer gear? Would I be alive after the session? I can honestly say that it is the most relaxed and relaxing place and there is nothing to fear but fear itself. Ceri and her team welcomes everyone by name, introduces people, encourages you to work at your level and genuinely takes an interest in what you are hoping to achieve and how to get there.
I now go everyday, this may seem obsessive but I find the classes fun, the people friendly and I get ME time. I am taken out of myself and I can do Pilates, Step, Intervals, Barre and now Yoga. I have tried them all and now have my regular classes. It works. My mood has lifted and I have dropped 2 dress sizes, you will have to take my word for this as I am bereft of evidence. I can do an "as now" photo, you may even get a smile. I still have a long way to go but I now feel have company on the journey. Originally I said 2 stone in 4 months was my goal. I don’t weigh myself but it sounded good to say. I believe I have done this and my new goal is to have fun, stay well, smile, share my good fortune and encourage anyone who needs a boost to seek out exercise and join some classes. There is something for everyone. Become a member and I hope to see you at some classes soon!

"Thanks Ceri!
It was been lovely getting to know you too and your classes have been so good. They are just what I needed after pregnancy and you have been so great and motivational. The class wouldn't be the same without you!
I will take your advise and stick to the Pilates and barre classes for the moment and see how it goes.
Thank you again 🙂

"Ceri is a magician!
Having struggled with back pain during my first pregnancy I was scared about it happening again with my second. I met Ceri in the early days of my second pregnancy and started classes with her at week 16. I felt strong and almost pain-free for much of the pregnancy. The biggest complement to Ceri is that several people commented about how I didn't waddle!! Instead I felt strong and that is down to Ceri. It helps that as well as being very knowledgeable about the pregnant and postnatal body she is also very chatty and friendly so classes are lots of fun"

"Ceri,
Just wanted to say that the class tonight was the best Pilates class I have ever been to! It was amazing and was hard but there's no pain in my back whatsoever so it's given me new hope. I can't tell you how happy that makes me feel.
See you soon"
